We have put together five useful study tips for you to use throughout the year. The tips will help inform you on the do’s and don’ts of studying for 2018.

Have a look at our tips below:

Tip 1: Eat healthy brain food
Brain foods like fish and protein rich foods such as chicken are great for studying because they boost memory and concentration. Combine these meats with fresh vegetables, fruit and plenty of water, and your brain will have all the nutrients it needs to help you excel at school!

Tip 2: Find a quiet space for studying
Studying at home does not always work for everyone as we can easily get distracted by either our siblings, the TV or the neighbour’s dog! Finding a quiet place like a library to study in is always the best thing to do because the silence will help you stay focused.

Tip 3: Study in a group
Find study buddies at school and help each other with your homework. This way you have all the notes you need to prepare for your tests and when it comes time for your exams you will have a study group to help you prepare and pass.

Tip 4: Keep your phone switched off
Social media and taking selfies is a real distraction which will not help when you are aiming for an “A”. In order to fully focus, you need to keep your phone switched off while you study.

Tip 5: Take breaks in-between studying
Studying for a long period with no breaks in-between can decrease your focus and hinder your performance. Your brain uses up energy when you study, so taking breaks in-between your study sessions will reenergize your brain and help you to stay focused.
