October 2012 saw the much-awaited Fingoland Mall opened its doors in the small town of Butterworth in the Eastern Cape. Perhaps even more significantly is that the development of the Mall has already created around 350 jobs and by growing its popularity and continuing to develop as a centre point for retail and commerce in Butterworth, the Mall has the potential to become a major supplier of jobs in Butterworth.

Fingoland Mall currently extends over 12, 700m². This is less than half of the projected total footprint of the Mall. Once the third and final phase is completed it will be considerably bigger and will boast as many as 100 stores. At present the Mall has 51 tenants, including major national retailers, and it also features no less than 10 micro-businesses who prefer to operate in less informal surroundings.

Perhaps even more significantly is that the development has already created around 350 jobs, and by the end of the third phase, the total number of jobs created is expected to reach 1,000.
